| Pebbling |
|
| 1.
Measure the area as per 3.1 |
| 2.
Prepare the base to allow for drainage - fall away from the house |
| 3.
Compact base that is original or build up using crusher dust or roadbase.
|
| If
installing steppers, bed them on crusher dust or mortar mix. |
| 4.
It is also wise to lay a weed mat down over the top of base material
for pebbles to lay on. This not only limits weed growth but prevents
base material mixing with pebbles over time |
| 5.
Remember to subtract the area of the pavers from the total area to
get the actual area to be pebbled. |
| Multiply
by the thickness of the paver or stepper (usually 40mm/50mm) |
| eg;
area 10m x 2m = 20m2 - 20 pavers @ 6.25/m2 = 3.2m2 |
| This
leaves 16.8m2 to be pebbled. |
| 16.8m2
x .05 (50mm depth) = .84m3 of pebbles required. |
